Description

With question in her eyes, an aging parent waits for her beloved son – her wrinkled glance longing for that pair of eyes who would be glad to see their parents. Inspired by a visit to a palliative care center in India, the artist brings to life the lonely wait of aging parents for their children who would perhaps never return to take them back home. Through the piercing gaze of the aging eyes, the artist manages to tug the softest corner of the soul. His satire come so life with the title of the painting where he questions the validity of going to a temple when God resides within the heart of one’s parents, each wrinkle represents an emotion and an impression of god , like Jesus on the cheeks, Buddha on the forehead and Ganesha on the nose. The sketch is not merely an art but a question to the society on issues of parental care and erosion of family values.
